3D Printing is simply about turning a digital object to a physical one but with three-dimensional units (left-right, back-front, and up-down). A regular printer (the one we use paper for) only use a two-dimensional cartridge, while a 3D printer add an extra dimension to create depth to the object. In 3D printing, the ink is called filament, which looks like a long strain of spaghetti spool. The filament types are varied and should be selected based on how your model will be used. Some consideration for selecting the filament may include: stiffness of the product, potential UV radiation, required strength, and colour selections.
3D Printing is a modern-technology miracle because now you can create anything and have it ready as a physical object within minutes (or hours, depends on your model). Having a cool and one-of-a-kind product may have been a default benefit of using 3D printing services. But, there are still more benefits, including:
A quick prototype: for those of you who work in industrial design or product design, you will know very well that a prototype can make or break the product sales. With a quick turnover from 3D printing services, you can print and test your prototype and make any adjustment necessary to your model before it will be bulk produced. Why spend thousands of dollars of loss for a weak product if you can test it first to see if it has served the purpose and quality as what you designed it to be?
Give a second life by amending things: try to look around you, do you see how many items that could have been fixed but left behind and almost thrown away because a little bit of it is broken? Perhaps a Christmas tree with one foot missing? Or a spare part that could be useful for your tools? Whatever it might be, think again before you throw things out. Because, a simple 3D model to fill the gap might just what your item needs to have a second life.
For all of your 3D Printing needs, we are using the top-of-the line Bambu Lab X1 Carbon. It means that we can print your model faster and smoother compare to our competitor. As we calculate the cost by time to print, it also mean that you will get it cheaper by printing with us.
Moreover, you can also do a multicoloured print (up to 4 colours), because we use Bambu Lab Automatic Material System (AMS) than can automatically change the filament as it goes.
So, don't wait anymore, if you can dream it, you can print it!
Glad you ask! There are many software to create a 3D model to print, to name a few: Autodesk Fusion, AutoCAD, Maya, SketchUp, 3Ds Max, etc. You can also get 3D models from AI generator platform or premium subscription to 3D modellers. Whichever software you are using, we can always print your model. You only need to send your model to us in .stl or .3mf file type. For printing purposes, we are using the default software for Bambu Lab 3D printer, which is called Bambu Studio.
You may also notice that we always indicate who created the model. It is because we strive to support our creative community by giving them credit to their amazing works. AND, to make sure that we are responsible in conducting our commercial activities.
By placing your Custom Print order, you are also confirming that you own the copyright to your model.
While you may request printing a freely available 3D models on the internet, they have to be in the public domain license. Ordering Custom Print on models with with non-commercial license may violate the copyright of the model (even though its only for personal purposes, not to resell). More information about copyright can be found here.
We as the 3D printing services provider cannot be liable in any way for how you use the printed products.
Our main aim with PRINT3D NZ is to make affordable 3D printing services available locally to help those who wants to turn their digital ideas to physical object.
But, we also understand that some people may need a bit of extra help to adjust the model to be printable. So, we came up with an in-kind offer of 3D printing services. It means that every Custom Print order has a complimentary 30 minutes design work to help simple adjustment to their 3D model, including recolouring, resizing, rescaling, and adding text to a flat surface.
However, if your model require longer than 30 minutes to adjust or tidy up to be printable, we may charge you the design work fee at $40/hour.
Sometimes we like to have the cute design to ourselves, so we printed it. But, since it's more economically efficient to print as a bunch, we then have some goods to go for our customer to get right away. Other times, we just figured out the best seller objects, so we make it readily available to keep the customer happy. In that way, anyone who wants to get the 3D object can order and get it whenever they want it.
You can choose to pick-up and pay cash on arrival (from Monday to Friday). Or, if you want us to ship for you, then you can transfer the full price + shipping fee and we'll send you the tracking number within the next business day after payment complete.
Currently, the most effective way is you can send us your order via email to hello@print3d.co.nz. You can also chat with us via Facebook (Print3D NZ) and Instagram (@print3d.nz). We will aim to confirm your order as soon as possible or within 1 business day from when we receive it.
There are two payment options: Cash (on pick-up) or Bank Transfer to (12-3245-0533546-37).
We currently do not accept any other form of payment. But, as we grow, we surely will look into adding more options ☺️
